SCREEN PRINTING
Screen printing is what we specialize in here at Fresh Air. We have nine automatic presses capable of printing 40,000 garments per day and up to 16 colours per design. Screen printing is a printing technique whereby a mesh is used to transfer ink onto material or a made up garment, except in areas made resistant to the ink by a blocking stencil. A squeegee is moved across the screen to fill the open mesh holes with ink, and a reverse stroke then causes the screen to touch the material/garment momentarily, this causes the ink to wet the garment/ material and be pulled out of the mesh holes as the screen springs back after the squeegee has passed.
DURABILITY
Screen printing has the best durability, usually outlasting the life of the garment itself.
VIBRANT COLOR
Plastisol inks have highest opacity resulting in prints with high brightness and colour vibrancy. Discharge inks give softer feel but only works on selected garments.
FRONT
Production of large volumes is faster and cheaper than any other garment decorating techniques.
VERSATILE
One of the main strengths of screen printing is that it can be applied to almost any type of garment.
